So, you're finally here. We've been expecting you.
Welcome home.
Whether by design or good fortune, you have found The Contrarians' Review, an e-journal of opinion. Founded in February of 2008 by John F. Triolo, The Contrarians' Review is already establishing a reputation as one of the foremost sources for ideas, controversy and commentary on the internet (or anywhere else for that matter).
How has this feat been accomplished? The answer is simple: A devotion to Truth and a penchant for picking fights (or at least a staunch and standing refusal to run from them). Our pledge is to bring you some of the most interesting writing available and our writers are more than capable of living up to that promise.
A note on ideologies: Many of the views you will find expressed here could be described as "conservative" and perhaps, insofar as many of our writers have a healthy mistrust of aimless "progress," they may be. However, if by "conservative" one means an ideology or "movement," he is mistaken. As far as editorial stances go (and that isn't far) The Contrarians' Review is not Conservative, Liberal, Neoconservative, Neoliberal, Paleoconservative, Libertarian, Old Right (whatever that means), Socialist, Communist, Capitalist, Progressive or even Distibutist (though a certain sympathy exists) in outlook. We eschew ideology in favor of Reason, Tradition, Authority and, where appropriate, Faith. We are skeptical of movements and philosophies and therefore align ourselves only with those institutions with the authority and legitimacy to expect, deserve our loyalty without requiring it for their own benefit. If at any time The Contrarians' Review were to become aligned with a movement it would be radical in ways that no existing movement is or could be; it's members would be radical partisans for Truth.
In any event, politics (narrowly defined in the distinctly un-aristotilian modern sense), the primary concern of ideologues, is only a tangential concern of The Contrarians' Review. We primarily function as a journal of ideas, arts, culture and religion and, we hope, entertainment.
